16 Days of Action – Women’s Lives Leeds Pledges
Leeds Women’s Aid, along with 11 other local organisations have come together to deliver the Women’s Lives Leeds project, funded by the Big Lottery, to support and empower vulnerable women and girls in Leeds.
Women’s Lives Leeds will be supporting the national campaign with 16 pledges for the 16 days of the campaign. You can find all the pledges on the Women’s Lives Leeds social media accounts, which will be released every day from 25th November – 10th December.
Kate Bratt-Farrar, Chief Executive of Leeds Women’s Aid explains “This is a fantastic opportunity for Women’s Lives Leeds to promote the 16 Days of Action and raise awareness about the levels of violence many women experience. We will be making a new pledge on each day of the campaign to demonstrate how we will support women and girls in Leeds, and ultimately reach our goal of many more women and girls in Leeds having their needs met and being empowered to lead safer, healthier lives.”
Women’s Lives Leeds is funded through the Big Lottery Women and Girl’s Initiative which is supporting projects that empower women and girls to take control of their lives. Women’s Lives Leeds has been awarded 4 years of funding to deliver interventions, activities and services across the city, and will support over 100 women and girls with complex needs in its first year.
Sue Brueton from the Big Lottery said “We are proud to have invested in the Women Lives Leeds partnership to deliver this exciting project which will benefit women and girls across Leeds and support 1000’s of the most vulnerable women during the 4 year lifetime of this project.”
