The Service

The Shine Project is part of the charity St Luke’s Cares and launched in September 2013 to support girls aged 11-18 in LS10 and LS11. The Shine Project delivers a range of work in the local area which includes one to one mentoring, work in local schools, CSE awareness work, courses, PSHE lessons and youth groups and drop ins in the community. We are passionate about girls in the local area knowing their value, providing new opportunities, building supportive relationships and on the whole empowering young people in the area of South Leeds.

We also have a social enterprise nail bar, The Shine Nail Bar which is a fully functioning nail bar open Tuesday to Saturday where all the profit goes back into the work of The Shine Project. It is also a space where young people receive training, do placements, work experience and apprenticeships.
