SEEN
SEEN (Seen, Enabled, Empowered and Noticed) is a project for disabled women in Leeds, and the people that support them.
The Feel Good course, a 5 weekly group programme for women with learning disabilities, is delivered in partnership between Women’s Health Matters and People in Action. The sessions are tailored to the needs of the women and sessions cover the following –
Taking care of your body
Having good relationships
Keeping safe
Being confident
Making new friends
We also offer Carers’ & Support Workers’ Workshops for those who support women with learning disabilities.
The two hour workshops cover topics such as –
Understanding the importance of knowledge to keep people safe
Identifying boundaries
Where do people with learning disabilities get their information about sex?
How to appropriately talk about sex without embarrassment
