Women’s Lives Leeds Alliance Invites New Members

The Women’s Lives Leeds Alliance is excited to invite organisations from Women’s and Girls’ Organisations in Leeds to apply to join.

Women’s Lives Leeds is a dynamic and strategic Alliance of women’s and girls’ organisations in Leeds.  Alliance members have been working together since 2016 to empower women and girls, and to support the people and structures around women and girls which enable them to reach their potential.

What benefits does being a member of the Alliance have? Here is what some of the current WLL Alliance members have to say:

Women's Health Matters is a member of Women’s Lives Leeds because of the opportunities to work alongside and partner with other Women's and Girls organisations, supporting each other and sharing our expertise and specialisms, to the benefit of all women and girls in Leeds.I’m a member of WLL because of my strong desire and belief to empower women and girls, to ensure our voices are heard, and to enable us all to lead safe and healthy lives.Leeds Women’s Aid is a member of WLL because we believe that women-centred support is powerful & improves the lives of women, men & children; WLL gives us a collective voice to influence strategy and practice and make Leeds the best place to live for women and girls.Asha is a member of Women’s Lives Leeds because working together we can reach many more women and achieve so much more.As an outsider with no family coming to Leeds last year, I arrived and I felt welcomed into the family. They’re very good at helping and signposting me for support. It’s only these charities that have helped so much. There’s the connection with Women’s Lives Leeds. Instead of working different agencies who don’t speak to each other, you know it’s already a family of women’s organisations who are connected. They are lovely women, like aunties or sisters.

If you would like to apply for membership of Women’s Lives Leeds Alliance and your organisation fulfils the membership criteria, please send an Expression of Interest of no more than 2 pages of A4 to: Chair@womenslivesleeds.org.uk by midday on Friday 9th October 2020. Expressions of Interest should give full details of how your organisation fulfils the membership criteria. Click here for the full invitation, with further details about the WLL Alliance and criteria for joining.

Please contact Sally Egan, Women’s Lives Leeds Strategic Development, if you have any questions about membership of the Alliance: SallyE@togetherwomen.org

Applications from prospective new members will be considered at the next Women’s Lives Leeds Alliance Strategic Meeting.
