SPEAK, Voices Against Violence

Women’s Lives Leeds was pleased to speak last month at Leeds University at a special event organised by the Women’s Path Research Group (https://www.facebook.com/WomensPathsResearchGroup/).

The theme for the evening was speaking out against violence and contributors included Nahid Rasool from Shantona Women’s Centre and Terry Wraggs from Leeds Animation Workshop as well as Jackie Offord from WLL.

Jackie spoke to the students about the project – how it came about, the partnership and the work being delivered by WLL. She also talked about how we were working to get women’s and girls voices to be heard across Leeds.

She talked about the Women and Girls Hub and how women had come together to build a vision of a Woman Friendly City for Leeds. Students were invited to sign up for the hub and a discussion was held around how they could support as individuals or collectively the idea of Women Friendly Leeds.
