Peer Support for Women Event
Are you involved in Peer Support?
Do you think there are special challenges and issues when delivering for/with/to women?
Would you like to talk to other Peer Supporters about this?
Part of the remit of the Women’s Lives Leeds project is the development of a Peer Support model, to initiate Peer Support services and to look to develop best practice guidance and a peer support toolkit. The other element of the project includes building peer support networks across the city.
We are fully aware that there is a well functioning network or “hub” that has been operational within the city which has been established and run by Leeds Mind. We approached them to discuss how we could best work alongside and one of the things we discussed was the option of running a Women’s Sub Group that would feed learning back into the network.
Initially we will run one session to see if there is any interest and to see if there is a specific need to look at particular issues when running Peer Support for women.
It is of note that this is an inclusive event open to anyone who has an interest in Peer Support for women, and is NOT limited to attendance from women only.
We are meeting at 10am on July 18th 2017 at Lion House, 41 York Place, Leeds, LS1 2ED.
If you would like to be involved in the first instance or have any questions please contact Jackie@leedswomensaid.org.uk
We look forward to seeing you there!
