About Basis Yorkshire:
Basis Yorkshire works to end stigma, create safety and promote empowerment for:
- Sex workers (cis and trans women) living and/or working in Leeds, whether working indoor or street
- Young people (of all genders) experiencing sexual exploitation, those at medium or high risk thereof
Basis supports indoor and street sex workers who identify as women, and young people and adults who are sexually exploited. Their purpose is to empower people to make safer and healthier choices by offering information, support and options. Their work is driven by a sound evidence base, as well as working closely with women and young people to ensure their services are designed and delivered with them, putting their voices and experience at the centre of their work. They challenge stigma and inequality of access to services for everyone they work with.
They offer a range of drop-in, outreach, 1-to-1 casework and group work services across the organisation. They also deliver a range of training informed by their frontline work and focused around improving practice for the people they support across the third sector and beyond.
